Tan Sri Datin Paduka Siti Sadiah Sheikh Bakir is the Chairman of Awqaf Holdings Bhd, a community-driven corporate Waqf institution in Malaysia, appointed since 1st November 2017 taking over from its founding Chairman the late Tan Sri Muhammad Ali Hashim who passed away on 31st October 2017.
Tan Sri Datin Paduka Siti Sadiah holds a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from University of Malaya on 1971 and a Master of Business Administration, Henley Business School, University of Reading, United Kingdom.
Tan Sri is currently a Director of KPJ Healthcare Berhad (KPJ), Malaysia’s leading provider of private healthcare service.Prior to that, Tan Sri was the Managing Director of KPJ from March 1993 until her retirement in December 2012. She was appointed as KPJ’s Corporate Advisor from January 2013 to December 2014 and was the Chairman and Pro-Chancellor of KPJ Healthcare University College (KPJUC), from August 2011 to December 2016.
Tan Sri commenced her career with Johor Corporation (JCorp) in 1974, and was appointed as the Chief Executive of Kumpulan Perubatan (Johor) Sdn Bhd, from 1989 until the listing of KPJ Healthcare in 1994. Aligning strategic, visionary and transformational leadership in KPJ, the Group has been able to break much new ground and achieve unprecedented success on many fronts in owning and managing private hospitals since 1981.
Tan Sri sits on various corporate Boards, namely CCM Duopharma Biotech Berhad, OSK Holdings Berhad , and as the Chairman of Nationwide Express Holdings Berhad. She was an Independent Non-Executive Director of Bursa Malaysia from 2004 to 2012.
Tan Sri is the Chairman of University Utara Malaysia (UUM), an eminent management university in Malaysia since June 2016 and is the Pro-Chancellor of University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) since 1st November 2016.
She is the President of Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH) the Healthcare accrediting body elected since 1998. She also a member of the Leadership Development Committee of the Razak School of Government (RSOG). She also sits on various others boards and committees, both public and private sectors.
In 2010, she became the first woman ever to be named “CEO of The Year”, in recognition of her achievements in 2009, by the New Straits Times Press and American Express and remains the only woman ever to receive the award in history for almost 15 years.
Tan Sri launched her biography entitled “Siti Sadiah : Driven by Vision, Mission and Passion”, penned by Professor Rokiah Talib, Penerbitan Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2013. Tan Sri still actively shares her experience on numerous platforms each year, in order to inspire and encourage other leaders to soar to their greatest potential.
