ISRA wins the Islamic Economy Award 2017

Dubai, UAE | 28th November, 2017 - The International Shariah Research Academy for Islamic Finance (ISRA) continues to be recognized as the leading knowledge and research entity globally.

After bagging its 4th straight award for the Best Research Organization from IFN recently, ISRA was awarded by the Dubai government's Islamic Economy Award (IEA) in the "Islamic Economy Knowledge Infrastructure" category yesterday.

ISRA's Executive Director, Prof. Dr. Mohamad Akram Laldin received the award from Dubai's Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum at  IEC's glittering annual event in Dubai.

"Alhamdulillah, all praise to Allah SWT for making this possible. On behalf of ISRA, i would like to register my thanks to the Dubai Government and IEC for this global recognition", said Prof. Akram when met at the sideline of the event.

"I take this opportunity also to express my deepest appreciation to the whole ISRA team and the Islamic Finance stakeholders especially Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) who have been very supportive of ISRA since it's establishment in 2008", he added.

Prof. Akram further stated that one of the strategic components of this latest achievement of ISRA is the collaborative efforts that ISRA has received from various institution and jurisdictions.

ISRA through its continuous research, consultancy and publication work will continue to foster closer ties with the Islamic Finance industry and the general mass towards building a strong and sustainable IF industry.

In addition, Prof. Akram reiterated ISRA's strategic role through its human capital development program, consultancy arm ICSB and Knowledge portal, I-FIKR, in providing vibrant and dynamic solution to the growing IF industry.
