KUALA LUMPUR: RHB Banking Group is closing two branches temporarily in Kuching, Sarawak from March 23 till 31.
The two branches are RHB Islamic Bank – Jalan Satok branch and RHB Bank – Yung Kong branch in Kuching.
“One of our employees in RHB Bank – Yung Kong Branch is the spouse of an immediate family member of the mother and daughter who had succumbed to Covid-19 as was reported by Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM). The employee is currently under home-quarantine since March 18,” RHB said in a statement issued close to 3am.
RHB Banking group managing director Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli said the banking group was taking all necessary precautionary measures to protect the health and safety of its customers, employees and our community.
As a preventive measure, RHB Bank – Yung Kong Branch, Kuching will be closed from March 23-31 to facilitate cleaning and sanitization activities, which will be carried out in accordance with KKM guidelines.
“As an added precaution, all RHB employees from this branch, with the exception of those who are manning the Cash Distribution Centre, have been placed under 14-days home quarantine,” Khairussaleh said.
In a separate statement, RHB said one of its employees in RHB Islamic Bank - Cawangan Jalan Satok, Kuching was an immediate family of the mother and daughter who had succumbed to Covid-19 as was reported by KKM.
It added that the employee has been sent for screening and is currently under home-quarantine since March 18.
As a preventive measure, RHB said RHB Islamic Bank – Cawangan Jalan Satok, Kuching will be closed from March 23-31 to facilitate cleaning and sanitization activities.
“We encourage all customers to use our internet and mobile banking services as well as self-service terminals to perform banking transactions, which include ATM, cash and cheque deposit machines,” Khairussaleh said.
